Pakistan Super League 2026
Former PCB CEO Wasim Khan resigns as ICC General Manager, joining a string of high-profile departures from the cricket governing body.
Dubai, April 22, 2026 — In a significant development for international cricket administration, Wasim Khan has stepped down from his position as the International Cricket Council’s (ICC) General Manager of Cricket.
Khan, the former Chief Executive of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), joined the ICC in 2022 and was instrumental in shaping the global cricket calendar, particularly regarding the expansion of the ICC's pathway events and the growth of the women’s game.
A Growing Leadership Void
Khan’s exit is the latest in a series of high-profile departures that have reshaped the ICC’s executive landscape over the last 24 months. His resignation follows the exit of several pillars of the organization:
- Geoff Allardice: The long-standing CEO was recently succeeded by Sanjog Gupta.
- Chris Tetley: The former Head of Events, who oversaw the logistics of multiple World Cups.
- Alex Marshall: The veteran head of the Anti-Corruption Unit (ACU), known for his rigorous approach to maintaining the integrity of the sport.
