Shreyas Iyer Punjab Kings (PBKS) captain led by example in the IPL 2026 match against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow on Saturday, May 23. The right-handed batter hit a six off Mohsin Khan to complete his maiden IPL century. With the maximum, he also took his team over the line as Punjab won the match by seven wickets and stayed alive in the IPL 2026 playoffs race.
The achievement came in the 18th over of PBKS’ chase. Mohsin Khan bowled a length ndelivery and Iyer went right back inside the crease and got underneath the ball to dispatch it over the wide long-on boundary. Following his 51-ball ton, the skipper took off his helmet and lifted his hands with a beaming smile on his face as his teammates clapped from the dugout.
With 497 runs in 14 matches, Shreyas Iyer is the second-highest run-scorer for PBKS this season, only behind Prabhsimran Singh (510 runs). Apart from his century, he also slammed five half-centuries.

The two players shared a 140-run partnership after PBKS were reduced to 22/2. Mohammad Shami was the pick of the Super Giants bowlers, returning with two wickets.
