Australia’s premier fast bowler Mitchell Starc is set to join the Indian Premier League 2026 after being cleared of shoulder and elbow concerns. The left-armer is expected to travel to India on Friday, April 24.
The 36-year-old pacer is targeting a return to action for Delhi Capitals in their clash against Rajasthan Royals on May 1, provided he completes his preparation without any setbacks. It will be a big boost for the Axar Patel-led side to have a bowler of Starc’s calibre to lead their bowling line-up.
Starc had a pretty decent IPL 2025 for the Delhi-based franchise, picking up 14 wickets in just 11 matches at an economy rate of 10.17. He also registered his first-ever five-wicket haul in the league in the season.
Starc has been out of competitive cricket since late January following a demanding run of fixtures. He was instrumental during the The Ashes for the Aussies, where he delivered a standout performance to earn Player of the Series award, claiming 31 wickets at an impressive average of 19.93 while bowling astonishing 150+ overs across five Tests.
